With just under 5 months of 2019 left, it feels like the year has slipped out from under me. It's been an unproductive year so far.
My professional life has had some positive changes, and I'm pleased with that (although I've got further to go). But other areas of my life feel a bit bereft. After an exceptionally rough July in 2017, I made a vow to myself to travel lots more. Originally, I made good on that. I went to Paris in December of 2017. Then in 2018, I visited Brussels, Edinburgh, London, Amsterdam, Madrid, and Amsterdam. I went to all these places (bar Madrid) by myself. 2019 though? I had a lovely trip to London as part of my birthday present with my mam in February. But apart from an almost trip to Belgium (a low point) in the spring, I haven't made any travel plans. I've decided that this must change. I'm going to make a mini travel bucket list for the end of 2019.
Anywhere, Germany
Anywhere, Italy
Lisbon, Portugal
Copenhagen, Denmark
Copenhagen, Denmark
Warsaw, Kraków, or Gdańsk, Poland
I miss exploring new cities by myself. I love the whole experience of travelling on my own, to be honest. I love being in airports alone and people watching, the reading I get done on the plane, being able to take in the city at my own pace, the tricky business of figuring out public transport systems, meeting new people, getting a glimpse into the lives of people in another country that differ so much from mine.
